The Can Do Descriptors, Original Edition have been commonly used by EL teachers in coaching general education teachers in the first steps of learning to differentiate instruction for English learners.

The spiral-bound booklets are available by grade-level cluster. Each booklet contains descriptors for that cluster, in English and Spanish, along with the WIDA Performance Definitions. This handy resource is durable and ideal for working with students, parents/guardians, general education teachers, administrators, and all other stakeholders in the education of English learners.

The Can Do Descriptors have not been updated to reflect the WIDA ELD Standards Framework, 2020 Edition, however, they remain available as a valuable tool for communicating with stakeholders about what students can do at each language proficiency level.
