WIDA Can Do Descriptors Early Years

SKU: 01-0245

The Can Do Descriptors Early Years booklet is a set of descriptors showing examples of what young dual language learners ages 2.5-5.5 can do linguistically in three overarching communicative purposes of language use, called Key Uses: Express Self, Recount, and Inquire.

The booklet includes descriptors for Expressive and Receptive language domains grouped in the following age clusters: 2.5-3.5, 3.5-4.5, and 4.5-5.5.

These innovative descriptors were developed with input from United States and international educators, and are intended to support ELs in a variety of contexts.
